San Miguel GS – Lo Romero (December 4)

Everyone who has played at Lo Romero has the proverbial photo of the iconic “Giant Golf Ball” – and this week’s photos are much more festive! A very popular course and you know why once you have played it. The weather was gray and cold, but the atmosphere was not so boring.

Lo Romero Golf is a fantastic course, which is well maintained, and further development is currently underway with the addition of a huge water feature (soon to be also known as the “Lost Ball Zone”). A challenging course for medium to high handicap players but still quite challenging for low handicap players with some very fast greens today. A pretty standard first hole, but the S.1 Island Green on the 18th can make or break your round!

A whole group of 48 people lined up later than usual, but we all got in when the sun, somewhat timid, decided to set today. Not many bare arms or legs were shown today (thankfully!).

Some very juicy scores being the first in each category:

Gold: Gary Kavanagh (39 points)
Silver: Sten Ronsen (40 points) – joint best score of the day.
Bronze: Carmel McCann (40 points) – joint best score of the day.

The accumulated pot of the “Two” was divided between Dave Blackburn, Richard Whitely, Mick Cook and Martin Clarke. Closest to this week’s Pins were Dave Blackburn, Ken Flaherty (greedy guy with two!) and Mick Cook. Dave Rowe was the lucky winner of the football card.

Next week we will be at one of the most beautiful courses in the area: Las Colinas. Also, another thank you to our kind members who continued to donate to A Helping Hand’s Christmas campaign.

We have a photo but not of all the winners, but it is very festive! Pictured left to right: Terry Sharley with his Abacus wine, Mick Cook (NTP and Twos), Carmel McCann (Bronze), Ken Flaherty (2 x NTP) and Sten Rosen (Silver).
