Full player ratings from the match below:
Thibaut Courtois—6: It was barely necessary to lift a finger, with 0 shots on Mallorca’s goal.
Lucas Vázquez—7: Perfectly placed cross for Rodrygo at the end of the match to seal the 3-0 victory.
Tchouameni—7: He played 55 minutes before being injured after a mid-air collision. He was an important presence inside the area, with 5 clearances and 2 aerial duels won.
Antonio Rüdiger—7: He battled Muriqi most of the night and kept the big target quiet.
Ferland Mendy—7: One of the best games of the season for the French side. Nothing surpassed him defensively: he won all (3) of his aerial duels and his two ground duels. He never dribbled and was better on the ball with his distribution from the back.
Eduardo Camavinga—7.5: He took a total of five shots in the match (probably a record for Camavinga in a Madrid shirt), but only one shot went on target. Clean in possession and quick on his feet to keep the ball moving or get out of difficult situations. The metrics were nearly equivalent on both offense and defense. He worked on both sides of the ball and was a major factor behind Madrid’s midfield dominance.
Fede Valverde—7: He made several long diagonal changes of play from the right wing to the left, reminiscent of his idol Kroos but from the opposite side of the field.
Rodrygo—8: He hit the post with a diving header that eventually landed on Jude Bellingham and opened the scoring. He finally got his own goal in the last minute of the match with a one-touch finish off a Lucas cross.
Vinicius Junior—7.5: In the first half, he was too easily distracted by Maffeo’s antics. In the second half, Vini little by little integrated into the game and showed his electric quality. He made 3 key passes and harassed the Mallorca defense on more than one occasion.
Judas Bellingham—9: Jude Bellingham now has the role of “Kaka.” He no longer has to go back and forth from the left side of midfield to the center. Ancelotti has moved Jude into a second attacking and defensive forward role, improving the team’s counter-pressing and keeping Jude higher up the pitch in transition. He finished the game with 4 key passes, a well-executed goal to open the scoring and countless sprints without the ball to harass the opponent.
Kylian Mbappé—6: He was active throughout the game, but missed several opportunities in the first half after his off-ball movement helped create openings. He had a total of 7 shots but no goal that marked his performance.
Substitutions:
Raúl Asencio—8.5: What a performance: perfect foot after entering. Solid tackles, lots of personality and crisp, breaking passes from the back. Continue to impress.
Brahim—8.5: He only had 10 minutes left to play but he certainly left his mark. He forced the second goal (a Mallorca own goal) with a pass that split the defense and made Valjent stretch to catch the ball and slide into his own goal. He was involved in the third goal, collected the ball from a throw-in and quickly gave the field to Lucas, who crossed to Rodrygo.
Dani Ceballos—7: He replaced Fede Valverde in midfield, providing fresh legs and excellent technique in compressed areas of the field.
