Gymnast and rower honored as top athletes in Torrevieja

Polina Berezina (Club Gimnasia Rítmica Torrevieja) and Javier García (Club de Remo Torrevieja) with the Mayors and the Councilor for Sport

On Sunday afternoon, the XXIV Torrevieja Sports Gala took place in the International Auditorium, which celebrated the achievements of athletes during the 2023/2024 season.

The event recognized outstanding performances in 15 categories, honoring athletes, clubs and contributors to Torrevieja’s vibrant sports community.

For the third consecutive year, awards were given to the Best Male and Female Athletes with Functional Diversity, as well as special and honorable mentions. A total of 120 athletes and 12 teams were nominated, and 3 honorable mentions and 5 special mentions were awarded.

The mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, the Councilor for Sports, Diana Box, and numerous members of the city council attended the gala.

The Sports Secretariat emphasized that the event serves as an occasion to celebrate the dedication and perseverance of athletes, regardless of their results, as well as the clubs, organizations and people who support local sports. It was, above all, a great celebration of Torrevieja’s sporting excellence.
